About Steven
Steven Isaacman, licensed in CA as a marriage and family therapist since 1992, maintains a private practice in West Hollywood. He was drawn to analytic training in the late 1990’s, inspired by a wish to better understand his patients. Over several years, the pursuit of extension classes yielded (in 2002) to enrollment as a candidate to become an analyst. In the spring of 2008, Steven completed his training at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies, earning his PsyD in psychoanalysis. Steven supervises interns in his private practice and is also a volunteer supervisor for interns at The Gay and Lesbian Center and the Valley Community Clinic. He is an adjunct faculty member at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and a guest lecturer for Phillips Graduate Institute, The Valley Community Clinic, The Southern California Counseling Center and The Airport Marina Counseling Center. Steven is also Program Director of the LAISPS Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Certificate Program and teaches the Object Relations section of that course..
